On the initial contact, he came & measured all the cabinets & showed us a sample of the pullout drawers and gave us a price to do everything we were looking to do. I was impressed and had also done my research previously on Angie’s list. He told us would be about 1-1/2 weeks for him to come and install. Exactly 1-1/2 weeks later everything was ready to be done. He had arrived at exactly 8:30 a.m. as promised and by 10 a.m. everything was done. My home is new construction and we wanted to get as much done as possible before we moved in… We are very happy with the work that was done and would recommend updated designs to anyone looking for more space in your cabinets!!

Updated Designs installed drawers on rollers under my kitchen & bathroom cabinets. They also installed shelves on rollers in my pantry. The owner was quite specific that he would be on-time. His services were excellent and I had checked other companies and his prices were considerably less. The quality of his work was excellent.

“I wanted to install pull out drawers in my old kitchen cabinets to make better use of the little space I have. I got several estimates from places like Shelf-Genie on the high end to buying the hardware and drawers and installing (well, attempting to installing) them myself. The estimate from Shelf-Genie would have been nearly $200 per drawer. The do-it-yourself project would have been over $60 per drawer – then I would have had to wait an eternity for my husband to “get-a-round-to-it”. I discovered Updated Designs when I was searching for full extension roller ball bearing hardware for the do it yourself project. The owner, Barry S. Franklin was extremely prompt arriving at the appointed time to give me an exact estimate. He measured carefully, showed me a very well put together book showing completed jobs, letters of referral, and his proof of insurance and license. I was impressed and hired him to begin work. He said he could install the completed drawers within one week. Now for the best part of the story!!!!!

Barry took his careful measurements to his workshop and constructed all of the drawers out of 1/2 and 3/4 quality birch plywood. All drawers – 5 @24 x 24 inch drawers for the pantry, 4 @16 1/2 x 23 inch drawers for two cupboards, and 2 @31 1/2 x 23 inch drawers for my kettle cupboard.

AS PROMISED, Barry arrived PROMPTLY at 8:30 am this morning with everything he needed to expertly install all 11 drawers. He came with absolutely everything he needed to assure me of a perfect, trouble free fit of all drawers. I could not believe that he was completely finished in less than 4 hours. He did a marvelous job and I will definitely find other jobs for him to do for me. WHAT A CRAFTSMAN.

It is so rare that you get a great job at a fair price from a clean, respectful, efficient businessman. What a pleasant surprise. He is someone that definitely deserves an A rating on Angie’s list!
